Turkey Finder · turkeyfinder.com · Version 0.9.5 (interim) · Effective October 22, 2026

This follows the one template shared by every Finder app from Northwoods Investment LLC. It is an interim document for the free-account launch, written without an attorney, and will be replaced by the attorney's final text.

Northwoods Investment LLC collects as little about you as the app needs. We don't sell your information, and we don't share it for advertising.

What we collect and why

WhatWhyWhere it's keptHow long
Your email address, the name you give, and your password in scrambled form that can't be turned back into the passwordTo sign you in and link your Finder appsOur servers (Cloudflare)Until you delete your account
Record that you accepted the Terms, the access disclaimer and the responsibility box (date, time, version, account)To show the terms you agreed toOur servers (Cloudflare); before you sign in, under a random device ID in a cookie (up to 5 years), copied to your account when you sign inFor as long as the account exists and as long afterwards as we may need it to show what was agreed (period to be confirmed with our attorney)
Address or map point you searchTo return spots near itSent to our servers to run the search and not stored with your account. It goes back to your phone in a sealed pass that expires after 20 minutes. What you type also passes through our server to the U.S. Census Bureau geocoder and OpenStreetMap Nominatim. Not kept. A free account keeps only the count of searches used (5 for the life of the account).
Tracks, waypoints, field-log pins and notes, and your hunt journalYour own recordsOn your phone, and backed up to your account while backup is on (below)Until you delete them
Backup of your places, trails, field log and hunt journal. Backup is on by default for every account; you can turn it off in the map's Places tab, and turning it off offers to delete the copySo a lost or replaced phone, or a computer, gets them back when you sign inOur servers (Cloudflare), encrypted at rest. Visible only to you and the Northwoods Investment LLC admin, and to members of a Hunt Party you join, only for the places you tick to share with it. Never public, never shared with anyone else. You can download it (Places tab, "Download my data") or delete it at any timeUntil you turn backup off and delete the copy, or delete your account
Field-log pins you choose to share to test the maps (if you tick "Share my pins, without my name or email, to help check and improve the maps."), without your name or email in what we useTo test and improve the mapsOur servers (Cloudflare)Until you untick the box (that deletes them from our servers) or delete your account
Your answer to "Did it find a spot you know?" (Yes, No or Not sure), if you tap one after a searchTo check how well the map doesOur servers (Cloudflare): only the answer, the app and the date. Never your account, email, location, search point or IP address. So the same place isn't counted twice, a one-way marker made from your account (or, signed out, the search) and the searched area to about two-thirds of a mile is kept for a year; it can't be turned back into either and is never linked to your answer. As running totals, for as long as the app runs
A photo you choose to add with that answer (optional)To check how well the map doesOur servers (Cloudflare), stored privately under your account with only the date. Before it leaves your phone, the app redraws the photo, which removes its location (GPS), camera and time data; our servers refuse any photo that still carries such data. Only you and the admin can see it. It is never shown publicly or used in marketing unless you give separate, explicit permission.Until you delete it (Account panel) or delete your account
Where you came from, if you arrived through a link that names its source or page (for example ?src=club-handout, a /go/ link, or ?from= on a link from gamefinder360.com or another Finder app)To know which channels bring people inCookies on your phone for 30 days (the first source kept); with your account when you sign up; and with your payment record at Stripe if you buy a planUntil you delete your account; at Stripe, as long as Stripe and tax law require
Subscription status (once paid plans open)To unlock your planStripe and our serversAs long as Stripe and tax law require
Technical logs, such as IP addresses, and daily usage counts that stop the map being copied wholesaleTo run and protect the appCloudflare and our serversCloudflare's standard retention; daily counts for one day, and a note of an account or IP address that went over a daily limit for 14 days

What sign-up says: "Backup is on: your places, trails, field log and hunt journal are saved to your account, so a lost or new phone, or a computer, gets them back when you sign in. Only you and the Northwoods Investment LLC admin can see them. Turn backup off any time in the map's Places tab."

Location

The app uses your phone's location only on your phone, for features like Guide me in, field-log pins and track recording. Your live location is not sent to us. Places, trails and pins you save are sent to us while backup is on (the default) or if you turn on pin sharing, as above.

What we don't do

Who else handles your information

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone's safety.

Your choices

The app is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child under 13 has an account, tell us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the version and date above and tell you in the app before your next search.
